From Small Blue-green Algae BIG DREAMS GROW

A study out earlier this year confirms that nature may have been keeping secret the key to training harder and burning more fat for millions of years

A natural product that makes you train harder and burn more fat during your training sessions... sounds a bit too good to be true, but research shows that the blue-green algae spirulina should be an essential part of your training regime and could help you achieve your fitness goals. On top of the new research, which shows spirulina increasing the time to fatigue and fat metabolism, it is already established that spirulina is rich in important nutrients and protein. The high protein it contains is seen to be alkaline in nature and therefore a good alternative to many of the acidic protein supplements available, which can cause stomach problems.

Spirulina is a microscopic spiral shaped blue-green algae that has been on the planet for millions of years. As a superfood it is packed full of natural protein, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and amino acids which has made it popular in recent years with everyone from Hollywood celebrities, to high profile nutritionists.

The exciting new research1 in the leading journal 'Medicine and Science in Sports Exercise' has just shown that as well as being full of protein, spirulina has surprising benefits when it comes to exercise performance….

Moderately trained participants took part in the double-blind, placebo-controlled study. Each subject received either the natural supplement spirulina or a placebo for 4 weeks. They were then asked to run on a treadmill at an intensity corresponding to 70%-75% of their VO2max for 2 hours and then at 95% VO2max until exhaustion.  Exercise performance was measured and blood samples were drawn before, immediately after, and at 1, 24, and 48 hours after exercise.

The results showed a clear advantage in those taking spirulina. Time to fatigue after the 2 hour run was significantly longer after spirulina supplementation (2.05 minutes ± 0.68 minutes vs 2.70 minutes ± 0.79 minutes – around a 25% increase). Furthermore ingestion of spirulina significantly decreased carbohydrate oxidation rate by 10.3% and increased fat oxidation rate by 10.9% during the 2 hour run compared with the placebo trial.

The study used only relatively small amounts of spirulina of just 6g a day, making these very achievable results for all of us in training.

What does this mean for your training?

In summery the study showed those who took spirulina were less fatigued after exercise and could train at a higher intensity for longer. Furthermore spirulina supplementation increased fat metabolism. Basically spirulina can help you train harder and for longer and burn more fat in the process – a must have for anyone serious about improving their training and figure.

Pharmaceutical companies want $1.2 billion to treat colon cancer

Cost of prescription drugs to treat colon cancer are skyrocketing beyond belief. Adding just a few months to patients' lives can cost as much as $31,000 per patient (1.3 Million Ph.peso) in drug costs alone. And that means big profits for pharmaceutical companies.

As always, the American consumer is getting shafted by Big Pharma, which continues to claim that such sky-high prices are necessary to fund R&D. It's a lie, of course: far more money goes into advertising and promotion than R&D, and the exact same drugs are frequently available at a fraction of the U.S. price when purchased overseas or through online pharmacies. But of course, drug companies and the FDA are doing everything they can to make sure Americans can't buy drugs from overseas.

All this is a moot point anyway: colon cancer can be prevented and even cured with treatment options costing a tiny fraction of what these prescription drugs cost. Prevention is dirt-cheap, and most colon cancer could be easily prevented by changes in diet that eliminate processed foods and cancer-causing ingredients like sodium nitrite (found in virtually all packaged meat products) and red meat.

Better yet, colon cancer can frequently be reversed through treatment with superfoods like spirulina. Medicinal herbs can also help reverse colon cancer.

It's your choice: you can spend $31,000 (Php.1.3M) on dangerous anti-cancer chemotherapy drugs that add a few months to your life, or you can spend less than $1,000 on medicinal herbs, superfoods, and healing foods that actually help your own immune system cure your cancer for life. Of course, the natural approach only works if you stop eating those cancer-causing foods that gave you the disease in the first place: red meat, fried foods, fast food, soft drinks, refined white sugar, white flour, hydrogenated oils and so on. If you want to be free of cancer, you have to permanently take these out of your diet starting right now -- no exceptions. Plus, you have to engage in regular physical exercise like jogging, walking, swimming or doing Pilates or yoga. To top it off, go see a naturopathic physician who can give you more personalized recommendations for how to prevent and reverse colon cancer.

Preventing colon cancer is actually very easy. All you have to do is decide to take care of your body and stop giving yourself cancer through poor lifestyle choices.

Cultivation of DLA NATURALS Spirulina

World's healthiest food that can add years to your life. Proudly grown in SUBIC!

DLA NATURALS cultivates the micro-algae Spirulina platensis in 5 hectares of Shallow ponds in Subic, Philippines. Our Spirulina is a selected strain off Spirulina platensis. Spirulina is a highly absorbable source of COMPLETE protein, containing a lot of carotenoids and other phytonutrients, B-Vitamins, GLA and essential amino acids.
Fresh water is used to fill the ponds. Food-grade baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), carbon dioxide and Food grade fertilizers are used to ensure proper cultivation of Spirulina. Paddle wheels agitate the water, ensuring even exposure of the algae to the sun for optimal growth and nutritional value. Maintaining the culture at a PH of 9.5 and above renders this culture extremely safe from any contamination from bacteria and viruses.
The fresh filtered spirulina is dried at a temperature below 55C in order to keep the maximum vitamins and nutrients. When the spirulina is dried, the product is grinded into fine powder or in granules nd immediately packed under vacuum aluminum foil. In these conditions, our spirulina powder or granules can be consumed during three years. When the packaging is opened, the spirulina powder and granules can be consumed for many weeks like any dried food.
Quality Control
Pond Management Routine Checks are carried in our pond medium for absence of contaminants. Ponds are replenished with fresh nutrients after every harvest. Ponds are routinely cleaned and closely monitored for cleanliness. Concentration of individual nutrients of pond medium is tested regularly in our laboratory. Strict hygienic practices are adopted in and around the ponds.

Spirulina Shields Liver Health

Spirulina shows promise in the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, a small study shows. A type of blue-green algae, spirulina is available in supplement form and often used in juicing.

For the study, three people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease were treated with 4.5 grams of spirulina daily for three months. In blood tests performed at the end of the treatment period, researchers found that the patients experienced a decrease in cholesterol levels.

Marked by accumulation of fat in the liver cells, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease can lead to inflammation and scarring of the liver (and, in some cases, liver failure or cirrhosis). Often occurring in people who are overweight or obese, fatty liver has been linked to diabetes, high levels of blood fats, and insulin resistance. Research suggests that maintaining a healthy weight and getting your fill of antioxidants may help keep your liver healthy

Spirulina and Diabetes Management

Question I HEARD that spirulina is good for health. I am a diabetic. Can I take spirulina? Other than this, what else can I take?

Answer: SPIRULINA, with its high concentration of functional nutrients, is emerging as an important therapeutic food. It is an excellent source of complete protein, beta-carotene, B vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll and enzymes, which occur in their nal form for optimum assimilation.

It also contains essential fatty acid, gamma linolenic acid (GLA) found in mother's milk, and evening primrose oil. It helps to strengthen the immune system; support cardiovascular function; improve gastrointestinal and digestive health; enhance natural detoxification and reduce cancer risks with antioxidant protection. Due to these beneficial effects, spirulina is a good supplement for diabetics.

There is evidence showing that insufficient insulin and excess sugar in the blood plasma can impair the conversion of the essential fatty acid called Linoleic acid (LA) to GLA. Thus, diabetics require higher amounts of essential fatty acids than non-diabetics. Clinical studies conducted by the two scientists D. Horrobin and G. Jamal showed that GLA is able to prevent or to reverse diabetic neuropathy. You may take Evening Primrose Oil 500mg, two capsules three times daily, for the first 12 weeks after which the dosage can be reduced to two capsules daily for maintenance.

In Germany, alpha-lipoic acid is medically approved to treat Type II Diabetes Mellitus (NIDDM) and its complications. It enhances insulin function and reduces insulin resistance. You may check with your pharmacist on the availability of this product. Always monitor your blood sugar levels. The mineral zinc has a protective effect against beta cell destruction while chromium has been demonstrated to improve glucose tolerance.

Diet should be high in fibre and complex carbohydrates but low in animal products, animal fats, highly-processed foods and refined carbohydrates. Grains, legumes, fresh fruits, vegetables and root vegetables are highly recommended. All foods containing white sugar like chocolates, biscuits, cakes, ice-cream etc should ideally be cut out from diet. Diabetics who exercise experience weight loss, enhanced insulin sensitivity, improved glucose tolerance, and reduced cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
Start off with gentle exercises such as walking and cycling at least three times a week. Abstain from alcohol, manage your weight, increase fluid intake and avoid stimulants such as coffee, caffeine, carbonated beverages, and cigarettes.

How does Spirulina grow?

There are four major conditions for growing Spirulina.

   1. Tropical weather
   2. Strong sunshine
   3. Pure water resource
   4. Pollution free environment

It is not possible to grow Commercial Spirulina culture in a cold or temperate area. Spirulina needs consistent high temperature which helps it’s growth. Spirulina will not grow anywhere that has constant low temperature (under 25 degrees). Under 20c degrees Spirulina will stop reproducing and die in a short time.

Spirulina absorbs sunshine and then creates a reaction in it's cells. When this reaction starts, Spirulina will produce the nutrients in the cell and will convert carbon dioxide into oxygen. Strong sunshine helps Spirulina produce more nutrients. Spirulina grows in alkaline saline water. Because Spirulina easily absorbs nutrients from water, if the water contains pollution or heavy metals, these will be highly concentrated in the Spirulina cell. If this happens, then this kind of Spirulina is no longer suitable for human consumption.

Our DLA Spirulina is World Class "A". Rigid monitoring of our plantations were strictly followed. Contaminants are controlled with various facilities and equipments to meet high quality standard Spirulina products.  We will not be recognized as a Class "A" Spirulina if not passing all necessary specifications and qualifications..
